When I found out that my brother, Oscar, and his friend, Matt, had their own entertainment review site, I was pretty jealous. Even more so after I heard their first podcast. The shows were witty yet informative, which made my desire to be apart of it that much greater. Sadly, hobbies get pushed to the side when work and life took over. Eventually the two just got too busy to keep up with it and the site faded away.
One night I was having a discussion with Dori about something I can’t recall and wanted to show her my brother’s site. Strangely enough I got a DNS error and assumed the site was down. Being the geek I am I couldn’t let the issue go unresearched. After some digging I discovered that the domain name had actually expired!
Thinking my brother had simply forgotten to renew it, I registered it immediately. It wasn’t until a few hours later that I learned of the sites demise. Needless to say, the domain was in my hands and I couldn’t let a great idea die. So I asked Matt and Oscar’s permission to pick up the pieces in hopes build something new.
Our ambition is always bigger then our actions, isn’t it? I’ve been sitting on the domain for months trying to a way to kick start it. I knew the podcast would be a key component for me and had purchased and tinkered with all the necessary equipment to make podcasts come to fruition. But after two failed recording attempts, I was beginning to believe this was beyond me.
I often struggle with my creative inspirations, but I wasn’t going to give up. On our third attempt we finally found the niche we were looking for. Instead of trying to cover many topics in one show, we decided to focus on one at a time. I found this awesome WordPress theme that was designed for video game reviews. After a little tweaking, the new Two In Review is up!
While we don’t have a lot of content at the moment, I have full confidence this new format will provide plenty of content for the future. We’re still a work in progress, so keep us posted on what you like and what we can improve on.
